The Catawba Cultural Preservation Project (CCPP) was formed in 1990 as a non-profit organization sanctioned by the Catawba Indian Nation. The mission statement of CCPP charges the organization with the “preservation, promotion, and protection of the rich cultural heritage of the Catawba Indian Nation”. CCPP has grown over the last 19 years from a fledging organization with two staff members to a well-established entity in the South Carolina preservation community.
